Live yet?

www.maarewa.com and maarewa.com are both working, although only in some parts of the world, only for selected people, only for a selected time.

We are Live or not so?

After a month long struggle with the domain name bought on Rediff, there are some signs of hope. www.maarewa.com worked for me on all browsers except IE. So,
WE ARE LIVE!!!

(But no one can hear me yet because it seems the domain is working only for me.)

Each one counts

Went on a ride with a friend. I asked him to take me to the place he usually hangs out and eats with his friends. I thought I already knew the best eateries in Jaipur but I was pleasantly surprised when this friend of mine showed me new places to eat out. I felt that every community has its own famous Chaiwala and Paanwala. Each eatery supports a community of its own in India….like student community, stall of an IT company, the usual strollers in a Park, etc.
So each Indian knows a eatery that is heaven for him/her. His life depends on that and he is proud of that place.

Idea!

Have been thinking about this idea. I don’t know what to call it though, but it looks quite interesting.

When you are visiting a strange town why do you have depend on your friends or strangers to tell you where to eat? It is most likely that the person whom you asked, even though he might have been born and brought up in that city,  doesn’t have the slightest clue about a nice eatery just around the place you are staying. It’s natural, after all, no one knows every nook and corner of the city he or she lives in. So, wouldn’t it be nice if people living in that particular street could tell you about eateries in and around that street? Wouldn’t you value the opinions and knowledge of the people who have been living in that locality for ages? Just like you have back in your hometown!

Every person in India is an expert about the eateries in and around his locality. Lets use that expertise. Let’s create a website that brings together people with knowledge and people asking for knowledge. Why not create a website where anyone can add his or her favourite eateries? Whatever shape or size.

Let’s see if it works…
